Laura Kruse
Communica welcomes copywriter Laura Kruse to the team. After writing at an ad agency in St. Joseph, Michigan, for a couple years, Laura moved back to Toledo and got out of the field for a while. But with her degree in English from BSGU, Laura always knew she wanted to write for a living. She says that when she saw the copywriter position posted, “I knew I had to go for it. I was more than ready to get back into the creative environment.”

In her role at Communica, Laura does a lot of creative writing. That can include anything from creating themes for events to writing copy for a product brochure or headlines and landing page content for a client’s website.

Laura and her husband Doug have two daughters; Caroline, four, and Molly Kate, who is two. She loves interior design, music, dogs (including her Yellow Lab, Piper), coffee and baseball (go Tribe!). You can usually find her on the playground circuit or at the Toledo Zoo during the weekends with her kids, but she loves traveling to new places and trying new local restaurants whenever she can.

Amy Fitzenrider
Amy Fitzenrider joins Communica as Senior Vice President, Account Services. She has been a strategic communications specialist based in Chicago for more than 20 years, with a focus in integrated marketing and public relations. She started her career in PR and took that experience with her as she helped build an integrated agency from the ground up. For the last eight years, she has been running her own consultancy, predominately working with firms across advertising, branding, PR and events marketing to support their clients.

Amy and her husband, Steve, had been thinking about leaving Chicago and were encouraged by the renaissance Toledo has been experiencing. She also appreciates the family-focused, supportive community that the Toledo area offers. When asked why she chose Communica, she says “I was inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit, creative, warm culture, and the vision for growth through deeper integration across disciplines.”

Amy enjoys spending time at Clear Lake, Indiana, with Steve, their two girls—seven-year-old Giuliana and four-year-old Lauren— and extended family. She loves water and snow skiing, reading, movies, traveling and cheering on the Buckeyes!
